Asphalt Contractor in South Torrance, California
Two decades of working with asphalt
Posted on Chao G.Verified Bay Cities Paving completed a new parking project for a self-service laundromat in Wilmington. The quality of the parking work was very good and many of the road damages were repaired. Many customers praised the work after seeing it. We sincerely thank them for their work.Posted on Alex S.Verified We are an HOA in Dana Point, Ca. Recently, we had Bay Cities re-seal our streets. They did a great job. On time starting their work, polite workers and very approachable. They were not the lowest of our 6 bids, but the best value for money. If a company gives you a price that is much lower than the others, beware. There must be a reason for it. And read the fine print. When a company says, "to remove up to 2 inches of asphalt to fix cracks", it sound good. But, when you think about it, that could mean just an of an inch, which will allow a crack to reappear in 6 months. Our neighboring HOA did exactly that and are now regretting it. Thank you Alan of Bay Cities Paving. We are happy to share our experience with othersPosted on Lisa D.Verified Alan and his team are great to work with, and do excellent work. They are also fast and very responsive. I cannot say enough nice things about them. I have used them a couple of times over the years and will continue to do so. Very pleased! Thank you BCP!Posted on diana k.Verified Cannot say enough great things about Alan, Michelle and their team. The team resealed a 40 year old driveway for my mom. From the very first interaction to ask for a quote, the team was fast, responsive and professional. Their quote was by far the best value but also the most detailed as far as the competition. Michelle was so communicative on text, phone, and email. They sent over copies of their business license, workers comp, and a contract. I had full faith in them from the first conversation and they did not disappoint. Thank you!Posted on Sami A.Verified BCP repaved the parking lots of two of our commercial properties. When the work didn't quite turn out as we expected, Alan was extremely responsive and willing to redo a portion of it. He was fantastic to work with as he is flexible and was able to exceed our expectations. We will definitely be calling him again when the need arises!Posted on Ken G.Verified We hired Bay Cities Paving to regrade a difficult spot outside of a commercial property we own in Torrance. We've had flooding problems there for years, and another paver had failed to fix the problem before. Bay Cities did a great job and even with all the rain we've just had, no flooding! Water is now running off toward the drain, as it should. In addition to doing good work, Alan was responsive, attentive, prompt and courteous. Will be using them again for other projects, for sure.Posted on Adriana P.Verified Bay Cities Paving recoated our business's parking lot and patio along with a resurface. Alan and the team are professional, quick to respond and did a fabulous job. Friendly, communicative and great prices! We were given a proper quote with full details and all information pertaining to the company with terms and conditions along with references. They were able to schedule the work soon after and everything was done well and in the time quoted. I highly recommend using them as we surely will again here at Baur Films, Inc!Posted on Robin M.Verified So happy we went with Bay City Paving to do the driveway for our rental. An awesome job and a great guy! Alan is a great personality! So personable, we feel like we've known him forever! But what I really like is that he's so professional! The scope of work is detailed and also shows license, insurance, Etc. Very detailed information and I LOVE that when it comes to any construction job. Thanks Alan, we are both happy with finished driveway and sure our tenant will be also, when he returns from his Coast Guard duties. Go with Bay City Paving Inc. You'll be happy you did!!!!!Posted on Marlon W.Verified I must say...Bay City Paving is great! I must say I shopped around quite a bit. Alan is very informative. No pressure. Let alone came down to provide me with a free estimate in a timely matter. 1-2 days lead time, while others took over a week just to respond. We have an automotive repair shop that needed a new 2 post lift. Alan and his crew work quick with no time to spare. One day job. Got us in the following week. If not same week. Let alone are these guys great. I needed a bit more work. With no hesitation. The guys took care of me. No question asked. They went the extra mile without charging me a dime. Thanks again Alan and his crew. I am your customer for life!Posted on Barry H.Verified If I could give 6 stars, I would. My project was repair of some large cracks and heaving of a sloped driveway. I got 4 estimates. BCP was in the middle as to price. BCP's estimate however was the most complete and thorough document I've ever seen for this type of thing. The estimate went over exactly what was to be done, but also went into great detail about things that might be found during the job which would require an increased cost. Alan noted that when they got into the job, the old cement and rebar was much thicker than expected and required different equipment to remove. The job was completed the next day and the final cost was exactly the estimate cost. Job crew were wonderful and I would use them again for any work in the future. I give them my highest recommendation without reservation!

Asphalt Contractor in South Torrance, California
South Torrance is one of those neighborhoods where you’ve got everything. Quiet streets, mature trees, homes that have been around for decades. You’ve got El Camino College nearby, families walking to Torrance Memorial, and folks heading to the Columbia Park pool on hot days. If you drive down Crenshaw or PCH, you’ll see what we mean. It’s just a solid community.
And you know what? That also means driveways that need fixing. Parking areas that crack over time. Asphalt doesn’t last forever, especially when you’ve got that California sun beating down year after year. Whether you’re a homeowner with a driveway that’s showing its age or a business owner dealing with a parking lot that looks rough, asphalt contractors in Lomita are here to help South Torrance get things looking right again.
People around here appreciate quality work. That’s what keeps neighborhoods like this looking good for the long haul.
Who Bay Cities Paving Is
Bay Cities Paving has been working in the South Bay for over 30 years. We’re a family owned business based right here in Lomita, which means we know South Torrance really well. We’ve done driveways on those quiet residential blocks. We’ve patched up parking lots near El Camino College. We’ve worked with property managers who need things done fast and done right.
Our main thing is asphalt paving. That’s driveways, parking lots, road repairs, resurfacing, you name it. But we also handle demolition work when old asphalt needs to come out before we put down something new. Sometimes a construction project needs excavation or grading before we even get to the paving part. We’ve got you covered there too. And if you need junk removal after a demo job, we take care of that.
Basically, if it involves asphalt or getting ready for asphalt, we’re your crew in South Torrance.
The Kind of Work We Do Around South Torrance
We’ve done all sorts of jobs in this part of Torrance. Residential driveways are big for us. A lot of homes here were built in the 60s and 70s, so driveways need some love by now. Cracks happen. Sinking happens. We come in, tear out what’s damaged, and put down fresh asphalt that looks clean.
Commercial properties? Yeah, we handle those too. Small business parking lots, medical office access lanes, church parking areas. Those get a lot of traffic and they wear down faster than people think. Modern asphalt paving technology has come a long way, and we use quality materials and proven methods to make sure your surface lasts.
One customer near Anza Avenue told us her driveway looked “like the moon” before we got there. After we finished, she said it was the best thing she’d done for her house in years. Another guy who runs a small retail shop near Del Amo told us customers started complimenting the parking lot. Little things like that matter.
Our team knows what they’re doing. Everyone’s trained, we carry the right licenses and insurance, and safety is just part of how we work. No shortcuts. No guessing. Just solid asphalt work done the right way.
We Know This Area Well
South Torrance isn’t huge, but we know the streets. We’re talking Sepulveda down to the west, over to Hawthorne on the east, and everything in between. Whether you’re near Madrona Marsh or closer to the Columbia Park area, we’ve probably worked on your block or pretty close to it.
We’ve handled jobs near Crenshaw Boulevard, down residential streets off Torrance Boulevard, and even tucked away spots near the green belt areas. The point is, we’re not driving in from somewhere far away trying to figure out your neighborhood. We’re local. We get it.
If you’re near Victor Elementary or down by Rolling Hills Prep, we’ve been there. If you live close to the South Bay Galleria area, we’ve done work in that zone too.
Things You Should Know About Getting Asphalt Work Done Here
South Torrance is pretty easy to work in compared to some other spots. Streets are mostly accessible. Parking isn’t terrible. But there are a few things worth mentioning.
If you’re on one of the narrower residential streets, we sometimes need to coordinate a bit with neighbors. Not a big deal, just something to plan for. During the school year, we try to work around drop off and pick up times if we’re near a school. Traffic on PCH and Hawthorne can get thick during rush hour, so sometimes we schedule jobs to avoid those windows.
For commercial properties, we usually work evenings or weekends so we don’t mess with your business hours. That’s pretty standard for us.
Oh, and permits. Yeah, sometimes the city wants paperwork depending on what we’re doing. We handle that. You don’t need to worry about it.
Why People Trust Us
Thirty years in business means something. We’re not some fly by night crew. We’re the same family that started this company three decades ago, still doing the same careful work we always have.
People leave us good reviews because we show up when we say we will, we do the job right, and we don’t make things complicated. One customer said we were “the easiest contractors she’s ever worked with.” Another one mentioned how clean we left everything after the job was done.
We guarantee our work. If something’s not right, we fix it. We’re friendly, we’re professional, and we care about how your property looks when we’re done. That’s just how we operate.
And yeah, we’re involved in the community. We’ve worked with local schools, helped out churches, done projects for nonprofits. South Torrance isn’t just a job site for us. It’s where we work and where we live.
