Trusted Handicap Ramp Installation in Santa Ana, CA
Two decades of working with asphalt
Posted on Chao G.Verified Bay Cities Paving completed a new parking project for a self-service laundromat in Wilmington. The quality of the parking work was very good and many of the road damages were repaired. Many customers praised the work after seeing it. We sincerely thank them for their work.Posted on Alex S.Verified We are an HOA in Dana Point, Ca. Recently, we had Bay Cities re-seal our streets. They did a great job. On time starting their work, polite workers and very approachable. They were not the lowest of our 6 bids, but the best value for money. If a company gives you a price that is much lower than the others, beware. There must be a reason for it. And read the fine print. When a company says, "to remove up to 2 inches of asphalt to fix cracks", it sound good. But, when you think about it, that could mean just an of an inch, which will allow a crack to reappear in 6 months. Our neighboring HOA did exactly that and are now regretting it. Thank you Alan of Bay Cities Paving. We are happy to share our experience with othersPosted on Lisa D.Verified Alan and his team are great to work with, and do excellent work. They are also fast and very responsive. I cannot say enough nice things about them. I have used them a couple of times over the years and will continue to do so. Very pleased! Thank you BCP!Posted on diana k.Verified Cannot say enough great things about Alan, Michelle and their team. The team resealed a 40 year old driveway for my mom. From the very first interaction to ask for a quote, the team was fast, responsive and professional. Their quote was by far the best value but also the most detailed as far as the competition. Michelle was so communicative on text, phone, and email. They sent over copies of their business license, workers comp, and a contract. I had full faith in them from the first conversation and they did not disappoint. Thank you!Posted on Sami A.Verified BCP repaved the parking lots of two of our commercial properties. When the work didn't quite turn out as we expected, Alan was extremely responsive and willing to redo a portion of it. He was fantastic to work with as he is flexible and was able to exceed our expectations. We will definitely be calling him again when the need arises!Posted on Ken G.Verified We hired Bay Cities Paving to regrade a difficult spot outside of a commercial property we own in Torrance. We've had flooding problems there for years, and another paver had failed to fix the problem before. Bay Cities did a great job and even with all the rain we've just had, no flooding! Water is now running off toward the drain, as it should. In addition to doing good work, Alan was responsive, attentive, prompt and courteous. Will be using them again for other projects, for sure.Posted on Adriana P.Verified Bay Cities Paving recoated our business's parking lot and patio along with a resurface. Alan and the team are professional, quick to respond and did a fabulous job. Friendly, communicative and great prices! We were given a proper quote with full details and all information pertaining to the company with terms and conditions along with references. They were able to schedule the work soon after and everything was done well and in the time quoted. I highly recommend using them as we surely will again here at Baur Films, Inc!Posted on Robin M.Verified So happy we went with Bay City Paving to do the driveway for our rental. An awesome job and a great guy! Alan is a great personality! So personable, we feel like we've known him forever! But what I really like is that he's so professional! The scope of work is detailed and also shows license, insurance, Etc. Very detailed information and I LOVE that when it comes to any construction job. Thanks Alan, we are both happy with finished driveway and sure our tenant will be also, when he returns from his Coast Guard duties. Go with Bay City Paving Inc. You'll be happy you did!!!!!Posted on Marlon W.Verified I must say...Bay City Paving is great! I must say I shopped around quite a bit. Alan is very informative. No pressure. Let alone came down to provide me with a free estimate in a timely matter. 1-2 days lead time, while others took over a week just to respond. We have an automotive repair shop that needed a new 2 post lift. Alan and his crew work quick with no time to spare. One day job. Got us in the following week. If not same week. Let alone are these guys great. I needed a bit more work. With no hesitation. The guys took care of me. No question asked. They went the extra mile without charging me a dime. Thanks again Alan and his crew. I am your customer for life!Posted on Barry H.Verified If I could give 6 stars, I would. My project was repair of some large cracks and heaving of a sloped driveway. I got 4 estimates. BCP was in the middle as to price. BCP's estimate however was the most complete and thorough document I've ever seen for this type of thing. The estimate went over exactly what was to be done, but also went into great detail about things that might be found during the job which would require an increased cost. Alan noted that when they got into the job, the old cement and rebar was much thicker than expected and required different equipment to remove. The job was completed the next day and the final cost was exactly the estimate cost. Job crew were wonderful and I would use them again for any work in the future. I give them my highest recommendation without reservation!

Trusted Handicap Ramp Installation in Santa Ana, CA
You know what I remember most about one of our first handicap ramp projects in Santa Ana? It was over on Bristol Street, and the family had been waiting almost three months for another contractor to even call them back. Three months. Their grandmother couldn’t get in and out of the house safely, and they were just stuck waiting.
That’s actually why we started focusing so heavily on handicap ramp installation here at Bay Cities Paving. Someone in our community needs accessibility, and they need it now. Not next month. Not when it’s convenient for some contractor who’s juggling too many jobs.
I’ve been working in Santa Ana for the better part of 30 years now, and I can tell you that ADA compliance and wheelchair accessibility isn’t just about following building codes. It’s about dignity. It’s about a person being able to come and go from their own home without help, or a business owner making sure every customer can walk through their front door.
We handle everything from residential wheelchair ramps to commercial handicap access solutions. And look, I’ll be honest with you… we’re not the cheapest option in Orange County. But we’re fair, we show up when we say we will, and we do it right the first time. That’s probably why families around Civic Center, Delhi, and Floral Park keep calling us back when they need any kind of concrete work done.
If you need a handicap ramp installed in Santa Ana, let’s talk about what you actually need. Not what some salesperson thinks they can sell you.
What Goes Into a Proper Handicap Ramp Installation
Here’s the thing about handicap ramps that most people don’t realize until they need one. It’s not just pouring some asphalt at an angle and calling it a day. There are actual ADA requirements for slope ratios, landing areas, and handrail placement. And if you’re doing this for a commercial property in Santa Ana, the building inspector is absolutely going to check your work.
We typically start with a site assessment because every property is different. A home in the historic district near downtown has different challenges than a newer building over by South Coast Metro. Sometimes we’re dealing with existing landscaping, sometimes there’s a drainage issue we need to work around, and sometimes the elevation change is bigger than what a single ramp can handle.
Residential vs. Commercial Ramp Requirements
For homes, you’ve got more flexibility. We can usually work within your budget and your space constraints. Most residential ramps need a 1:12 slope ratio, which means for every inch of rise, you need 12 inches of ramp length. So if your front door is 24 inches off the ground, you’re looking at a 24 foot ramp. That’s just the math of it.
Commercial properties? That’s where Santa Ana gets strict. You need proper handrails on both sides, specific edge protection, and landings at the top and bottom. We’ve done dozens of these for businesses along Main Street and 17th Street, so we know exactly what the city inspector wants to see.
Materials and Installation Timeline
Most of our handicap ramps are asphalt or concrete, depending on what makes sense for your property. Asphalt integrates better with existing driveways and parking lots. It’s also easier to repair down the road if you ever need adjustments.
Timeline wise, most residential ramps take us 2 to 3 days from start to finish. That includes site prep, base work, paving, and any finishing touches. Commercial projects might run a bit longer because there’s more involved with permits and inspections. But we’re not talking weeks here. We understand that accessibility needs don’t wait.
Why Santa Ana Families Trust Us With Their Accessibility Projects
Three Decades of Local Experience
Look, we’ve been doing this since 1995. That’s before most of the new development around South Coast Plaza even existed. We’re not some company that parachutes in from Los Angeles, does a job, and disappears. My crew lives here. We shop at the same Northgate Markets you do. Our kids went to Santa Ana schools.
That matters because when we install a handicap ramp at your property, we’re putting our name on it in our own community. Mrs. Chen over in Delhi still waves at us when we drive by, and that’s because we did her mother’s wheelchair ramp six years ago and it still looks perfect.
Real Projects, Real Results
We’ve handled accessibility work for the Santa Ana Unified School District, local medical offices near the Civic Center, and probably a hundred residential properties across every neighborhood in this city. French Park, Heninger Park, Madison Park… we know these streets.
One project I’m particularly proud of? We did a complete accessibility overhaul for a family owned restaurant on First Street. The owner’s father had a stroke and couldn’t navigate the old entrance anymore. We had that ramp installed in three days so he could get back to greeting customers. That’s the kind of work that means something.
Fair Pricing, No Games
We give you a straight quote upfront. No hidden fees, no surprise charges when the job’s done. It’s just how we operate.
